My wife and I returned from a family vacation in Thailand and just needed some space to be alone-this was an option based on the Entertainer app... WOW what a great place.Quiet, Private, awesome location, not to far from the city! Great hospitality, even better food-you must book for the dinners-its DELICIOUS!! Wine tasting nearby. Grounds nice and spacious, well kept! Overall, BRILLIANT!!
My husband and I spent a night at Hawksmoor House after buying a Daddy's Deal - what a magical place! I loved the old house, the decor, the 2 dogs running around, the fires, the view, the staff ... absolutely every bit of it. I felt like I had gone back in time.I really liked that instead of TV's in every room there was a big fire grate, that you could lie in bed with the fire crackling away. It was a break from the city in all the right ways.
My only regrets were that we didn't book dinner there and that we didn't stay longer!
We stayed for a night in the Seed Room this past weekend, upon arrival we were greeted by Gracie and Virginia two beautiful pointers and Stacey who gave us the tour and run down of the beautiful manor house.
Our room was spacious, comfortable and the books in the bookshelf really added to the the history of the farm. Bathroom facilities were perfect even with the current water restrictions.
We had the 3 course dinner and chef Godfrey is ridiculous with his kitchen skills 10/10 The best pork belly my wife and I have had! Candice who served us was friendly and welcoming as well to make a really enjoyable dining experience.
The bar is well stoked and drink prices are very much in line with what you would pay at a restaurant, having a drink after dinner and being joined by Rudi for a chat was the perfect way to cap off the evening!
Breakfast the next morning was incredible and the selection of "cold breakfast" is more than sufficient followed by a warm breakfast of fantastic quality.
Location,Food, staff(Stacey, Rudi Chef Godfrey and Candice), quality all a huge 10 out of 10
We loved our anniversary stay and will definitely be back for a longer stay next time!
Be ready to relax and just take in the amazing views, service and food.
Very much a place to get away from it all! So be ready to forgo your electronics and simply unwind from the hectic lifestyle we all live!
And make sure you have room for breakfast... it is substantial!!
I would also recommend that you book to eat there one night although you have to book in advance as it is a very private affair and not an open restaurant!!
We booked for 2 nights using Daddy's Deal vouchers in order to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We loved it! The rural feel, the views, the homely charm of the old Dutch style farmhouse and gardens, the accommodation, the antique furniture, wonderful hospitality and personable service, great food suited to your needs. We felt totally at home rather like being back on our family farm in Zimbabwe, and we were able to visit a number of attractions in the vicinity.
